JEFF BARNABY

Jeff Barnaby is an artist, poet, author and filmmaker. He was born on a Mi’gmaq reserve in Listujug, Quebec.

Jeff is currently in development on two feature films, Blood Quantum & Rhymes for Young Ghouls.

His work paints a stark and scathing portrait of post-colonial aboriginal life and culture. His third professional short film, File Under Miscellaneous (2010), was nominated for a Genie Award. His previous films include From Cherry English (2004) and The Colony (2007).

DAN BEIRNE
WRITER

Dan Beirne is a writer and actor. Dan is currently writing his first feature comedy with Prospector Films, The Killing of a Family Dog.

He is one of the co-creators of the critically-acclaimed web-series, The Bitter End. His most recent roles are alongside Robb Wells in Beat Down (2012) and Jacob Tierney in Sorry Rabbi. Dan also writes for Said the Gramophone, one of TIME’s Top 25 Blogs of 2009.

Dan’s past films include The Trotsky, Peepers, Who is KK Downey?, On the Road, and I Heart Doomsday, for which he was awarded Best Male Performance at the 2010 Fantastic Planet Film Festival.

JULIET LAMMERS
DIRECTOR

Juliet Lammers is co-director of the feature documentary, Last Woman Standing at Prospector Films.

In Last Woman Standing, she and co-director Lorraine Price follow Ariane Fortin and Mary Spencer, two world champion Canadian boxers and former best friends who must fight each other for a chance to win gold at the 2012 Olympics.

Juliet was a co-founder of Pop Montreal’s film festival component Film Pop; she developed the first iteration of CKUT Radio’s Kids Radio Camp; and has made music videos, fiction and documentary film projects, and most recently has ventured into the world of online and interactive documentaries. Juliet loves boxing, running, and learning new languages. She speaks German, French, and English, and gets by in Japanese.


LORRAINE PRICE
DIRECTOR

Lorraine Price is co-director of the feature documentary, Last Woman Standing at Prospector Films.

In Last Woman Standing, Lorraine and co-director Juliet Lammers follow Ariane Fortin and Mary Spencer, two world champion Canadian boxers and former best friends who must fight each other for a chance to win gold at the 2012 Olympics.

Lorraine is a photographer and emerging documentary filmmaker based in Montreal. Her photos have been published in Exclaim!, Nightlife, and the Montreal Mirror, and featured on websites such as Pitchfork and Gorilla vs. Bear. Lorraine also boxes with the Blue Cat boxing club where she has been training with coach Phil Dickinson for the past three years.

Last Woman Standing is Lorraine’s first television documentary.


MARK SLUTSKY
WRITER / DIRECTOR

Mark Slutsky is a filmmaker, food writer and former film critic living in Montreal.

Mark is the writer and director of the short comedy Sorry, Rabbi (Prospector Films) which stars Jessica Paré (Mad Men) and Jacob Tierney (The Trotsky).

Mark spent 10 years as a core member of ultra-low-budget micro-indie Automatic Vaudeville studios, playing pretty much every conceivable role behind and in front of the camera, culminating in the group’s feature film Peepers (EOne), which he co-wrote and produced. He is currently the writer on Yung Chang’s The Fruit Hunters (Eyesteelfilm, NFB, CBC) and is writing his feature directorial debut Breaking the Band (Prospector Films) with the support of Telefilm.
