Successful candidate must be bilingual and have a minimum of 2 years experience and be open to working on a wide range of tasks.

Primary duties will include:
- Scheduling shoots
- Booking crew & equipment
- Booking travel & accommodations
- Negotiating access and permission to locations and subjects
- Working closely with producers and directors on a short timeline
- Basic budgeting and cost reporting of shoots
- Assembling documents for funding applications, tax credit administration & contract administration
- Managing festival submissions
- Managing tape delivery to festivals and partners
- Assist in managing the office (supplies, cleaning, etc)
- Assist the producers in a variety of other admin and production tasks

This is a 1 year contract position with a three month trial period. The position is 3 days / week and we can offer a rate of $15 /hr. Candidates must live in Montreal and be residents of Quebec.

Prospector Films is pleased to announced that Jeff Barnaby’s FILE UNDER MISCELLANEOUS has been acquired by The Movie Network. Look for it on MExcess, where it will air with their late night gore & horror films.

SORRY, RABBI will have it’s Montreal premiere Tuesday, November 15th at 8pm at Monument National. The film will be screening along with 12 other shorts as part of Danny Lennon’s PRENDS ÇA COURT! screening series. Doors open at 7pm, screening starts at 8pm and tickets are only 5$ each! The Monument-National is at 1182 boul. Saint-Laurent.

Aisling’s short film, MICHAEL’S STORY, is the latest project to be added to Prospector Films development slate. We’ll be applying for production funding over the next few months, with an eye to being in production by summer 2012.

Mark Slutsky’s SORRY, RABBI was the 2010 winner of the same award, and the win helped propel the project into production and an eventual world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Her screenplay for the short film Michael’s Story was selected as one of 6 finalists chosen from over 70 submissions. Over the coming weeks she’ll be paired with a story editor and her script will be workshopped along with the scripts of the other finalists. All this work will culminate in a public pitch of her project which will take place on October 12th in Montreal.

Mark Slutsky’s script for Sorry, Rabbi won the Best English Language Prize at the 2010 Cours écrire ton court competition and it provided the film with its first chunk of momentum. CETC is a great program and is a great place to launch Michael’s Story.

John, Aisling and Mark are at the Toronto International Film Festival this week – with a pretty busy schedule lined up! Mark is a participant in this year’s Talent Lab, and we will be premiering Sorry, Rabbi on Sunday 11th at 8:45pm in part of the Short Cuts Canada: Program 2 with the second screening on September 12th, at 5:00pm.

The three of us are also part of this year’s Pitch This! Program where six finalists pitch their feature project. We will pitch Mark’s feature comedy script, Breaking the Band in front of a live audience on Tuesday September 13th.
